The Barbera and Dolcetto vineyards are located in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba at an altitude of about 400 metres above sea level. They are divided between two slopes: the first, with south – south-westerly exposure, is cultivated with Barbera and is characterised by well-drained marly soil and the second, with westerly exposure, is cultivated with Dolcetto and the soil is characterised by clayey loam mixture with a considerable amount of limestone.
Only organic fertilisers are used in the vineyard, while natural copper and sulphur-based products are used to prevent diseases of the vine. Production is regulated by manual thinning of the bunches in order to promote perfect ripening.
